HO scale network
HO scale network

Our HO gauge (3.5 mm to the foot scale) network measures 1/87 real life and was first built in Charny in 1965. It occupies an area of 66 m2 and presents 155 m of main lines with 25 of sidings, 2 large marshalling yards and many industrial branch tracks.
HO scale network
One can view on the network: :

-
an Italian neighbourhood with a motor-cyclist club;
-
a country side with farms and animals;
-
a lumber yard with its saw mill;
-
a roundhouse (the Charny roundhouse reproduction);
-
an Acadian village; a container terminal and a coal mine;
-
a diesel locomotive repair shop;
-
a huge trestle bridge constructed by a master model builder and completely hand made including the wood sawing.

This bridge occupies a curved length of 2.3 m, holds on 32 trestles with the highest peaking at 38 cm. It required 501 000 scale feet of wood and 300 hours of work.

HO scale network

The HO network comprise...

-
over 82 square meters (896 square feet) of network;
-
some 200 linear meters of main line with many siding and yards;
-
a 2002-2003 installed DCC locomotive control with block and signalling detection; more than 300 locomotives (members and Club owned) were each converted to DCC operation by the installation of a decoder chip;
-
a typical Quebec autumn dream landscape. The first 5 modules brought QMRS the " National Model Railroad Association " 1956 first prize in Boston. From then on, our network more than quadrupled in size
